West Virginia Utility Assistance Program offers grant programs to qualified 
individuals for utility services. For instance Appalachian Power customers can get $300 assistance with their utilities (if qualified). FirstEnergy customers must pay at least $100 of their utility bill before assistance is provided. If you are 62 years of age or older you only have to pay $75 of your bill. Your account must be residential. Other eligibility requirements exist. However if you would like more information about this program please call 1-800-982-4237, 1-800-686-0011, or 1-800-686-0022.
