Amarillo Housing Assistance Program (HAP)

The Housing Assistance program is designed to help renters by offering assistance to lower income individuals. They realize affordable safe housing is getting harder and harder to find these days. That is why the city is trying to partner up with rental property owners, so they can offer more affordable housing to lower income individuals. Affordability is achieved by using a city voucher program. This enables property owners to offer discounted rent.
