Utility payment assistance

ElderlyorDisabledLiving. Rhode Island has a program called “protection for infants.” If you have an infant ElderlyorDisabledLivingunder the age of 2 and cannot pay your utility bill, it will not be shut off under this program. “To qualify, you must fill out a financial hardship form, provide proof of financial hardship, and attach a copy of your child’s birth certificate or other verifiable documentation proving the child is under the age of two (2) years of age.” Most utility companies have some type of program like this one. For more information please call the phone number listed on you utility bill.
