Social Service in North Carolina offers the Low-Income Energy Assistance (LIEAP). If you qualify for help, LIEAP  gives one time financial assistance. However this financial assistance is paid directly to the utility provider, not you. Applications for assistance are taken for this program between December 1 and March 31st each year. There are other requirements to  like household income. If you would like more information on this program please call 336-570-6532.
