TX Direct Energy offers the Neighbor to Neighbor program which pays some of your utility bill. 
Direct Energy will pay up to $300 twice a year for a total of $600 to qualified individuals. There are a couple of ways to qualify for this program. You can go online at “Help for Texans” and fill out an application under the utility bill help section, call 2-1-1 (an operator can connect you), or call 1-877-399-8939. Also if you live in the Nacogdoches area you may call 1-936-564-2491 the Greater East Texas Community Action Program (GETCAP) for more information.
