Medicare Part A,B, and C Basics and Tips
What does each plan cover?
Part A only covers inpatient hospital care and this coverage is good enough to meet the minimum insurance requirements. This means you will not be penalized for not having insurance.
Part B is hospital outpatient care. This means the insurance coverage is meant to help maintain your health and prevent you from getting illnesses. This insurance type does not meet the minimum requirements thus you may be penalized for not having insurance at the end of the year.
Part C includes part A and B and is run by Medicare approved private insurance companies. Thus this plan meets the minimum requirements to have insurance.
