   Insomnia is a sleep disorder in which you have trouble falling and/or staying asleep. It is estimated that Nearly 70 million Americans have a sleep disorder and Insomnia is a very common sleep disorder, with 30% of adults experiencing short-term insomnia.

Insomnia can negatively affect daily lives and routines by lowering your energy levels. Furthermore, it can affect your work performance, health, mood, and quality of life.

Here is a list of triggers that might bring on insomnia for you:

   Stress. Concerns about work, school, health, finances, family, etc. can keep make it difficult to sleep. Stressful life events such as the death or illness of a loved one, divorce, or a job loss can also lead to insomnia.

   Travel or work schedule. Your circadian rhythms act as an internal clock, guiding such things as your sleep-wake cycle, metabolism and body temperature. Disrupting your body's circadian rhythms can lead to insomnia..

   Poor sleep habits. What are poor sleep habit? Poor sleep habits thing like irregular bedtime schedule, naps, and using your bed for work, eating or watching TV. Moreover, computers, TVs, video games, iphones, ipads or other screens devices just before bed can interfere with your sleep cycle.

   Eating too much late in the evening. Eating too much where you feel physically uncomfortable while lying down will contribute to insomnia. Many people also experience heartburn, a backflow of acid after eating, which will also contribute to you staying awake.

   Here are some more recommendations to help with insomnia:

  • Keep your bedtime and wake time consistent from day to day
  • Avoid large meals and beverages before bedtime
  • Check your medications to see if they may contribute to insomnia.
  • Stay active regular activity helps promote a good night's sleep.
  • Avoid or limit naps.
  • Avoid or limit caffeine and alcohol.
  • Create a relaxing bedtime ritual, such as reading or listening to soft music.
  • Make your bedroom comfortable for sleep and only use it for sex or sleep.

  • Doxepin - Silenor
  • Eszopiclone - Lunesta
  • Zaleplon - Sonata
  • Zolpidem - Ambien, Edluar, Intermezzo, Zolpimist

   You might Benefit from a change of lifestyle, medication, or both. It is critical to get insomnia under control. Some people suffer from acute or short-term insomnia usually it can be treated well. Unfortunately, chronic or long-term insomnia presents a more difficult issue to solve. Most of the time a healthcare worker is needed to help control the symptoms of insomnia. The main goal is to live the best fulfilling life as possible with this condition.
