Alabama Housing Finance Authority (AHFA)

The AHFA offers two programs that will assist home buyers. One program is called  Step up and the other program handles Mortgage Credit Certificates. The Step Up program is only available to individuals whose income is below $97,300. It offers a gratuitous 30 year fixed loan and it offers down payment assistance too. The mortgage credits certificates mainly work by reducing an individuals taxes which in turn will free up finances for you, at least that what the program strives to do.
